Nemo is on bed rest and looking for a foster home to bless with his biscuits & purrs (sound on)!
This sweet boy was brought to the city shelter with a broken pelvis after a Good Samaritan found him injured in their backyard (they suspected he’d been hit by a car 🥺). He was very shy when he first arrived, but with some time to adjust (and a hefty dose of pain meds), he’s become a very friendly guy who starts rolling around to greet you as soon as you come in the room!
Nemo is on strict “bed rest”, which means he’ll need to stay in a pop-up crate or play pen for the next several weeks while he heals. We don’t know how he feels about other pets, so he’ll likely do best in a pet free home or with his own separate space to cut down on any potential stress.

Our 20 pound fluffball, Bear Bear, is seeking a dog savvy foster ASAP! This adorable guy is returning to the shelter tomorrow (Saturday 4/27) after struggling a bit in his most recent foster home. We`d really like to minimize his time in our kennels to avoid stress as much as possible!
Bear Bear was recently surrendered from a very loving home due to housing issues. He`s an affectionate, energetic young pup who is feeling a bit lost without his family, which has led to him showing some discomfort with being handled and people encroaching his space. His current foster has said that 90% of the time, he`s a fun, amazing, and loving dog — he just needs some extra help and patience during his first few weeks in a home!
Bear Bear is looking for a few things to help him thrive:
A dog-savvy foster who can be patient while he adjusts to his new home and go slow with him to build his trust.
A calm, pet-free home in a less-densely populated neighborhood
Bonus: a securely fenced yard for him to show off his impressive zoomies (he LOVES being outside)!
Bear Bear would really appreciate some love and guidance after experiencing so many changes in his life, can`t wait to show you what a wonderful, silly sidekick he truly is. Thank you to everyone who made our second Pours For PAWS a smashing success! We could not be more grateful to the 140+ supporters who joined us for an amazing night in support of Philly’s pets, as well as the sponsors, volunteers, and Young Friends of PAWS board members who made this event possible.
We had a great night, enjoyed fantastic food and drink at @positanocoastphilly, and most importantly, we raised critical funds for Philly’s pets. Between direct contributions, silent auction bids, and ticket purchases, we were able to raise an amazing $27,200 to support PAWS’ lifesaving mission — almost twice of what we raised at last year’s Pours for PAWS!
These funds are already helping PAWS rescue sick and injured animals throughout Philadelphia and provide affordable veterinary care and support to pets and owners in need. On behalf of all of us at PAWS, thank you!!
