When you adopt your new best friend from PAWS, you are truly saving a life that may not have had a chance without your kindness. Our downtown adoption center (2nd & Arch Streets) is open from 12 pm to 7pm Monday through Friday, 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, and on Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Each day there are new animals who are looking for loving homes, so please stop down to meet your match!
Hey, Northeast and Port Richmond! To adopt a PAWS cat, look no further than your own neighborhood! We have great cats for adoption every day at three locations:
- PETCO, Grant Avenue & Roosevelt Boulevard
- PETCO, 3300 Aramingo Avenue
- PETsMART, Cottman Avenue/7422 Bustleton Avenue
Cat adoption hours are Monday through Friday from 6-8 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can also meet great dogs for adoption on many Saturdays and Sundays from 11am to 3pm. Check our calendar of events for details!

Dogs:
Adoption fee for adult dogs (older than 1 year): $75
Adoption fee for puppies (1 year of age or younger): $110.
All dogs and puppies are spayed or neutered prior to going home, vaccinated for: distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parainfluenza, parvovirus (DHLPP - for puppies, the first in a series of three vaccinations that should be completed by the adoptive family either at the family veterinarian's office or by returning to PAWS for a $20 fee), bordetella and rabies (for dogs three months and older), dewormed (often the first in a series of treatments that should be completed by the adoptive family) and treated for fleas (treatment must continue monthly after adoption to keep your pet flea-free). Never lose your best friend! Included in the adoption fee is a 24 Petwatch microchip that will be implanted in your new pet and should be registered in your name after adoption.
Cats:
Adoption fee for adult cats (6 months of age and older): $50
Adoption fee for kittens (under 6 months of age): $75

To adopt a PAWS dog or cat, please visit our Adoption Center at 2nd & Arch Streets, open seven days a week (M-F: 12-7 p.m; Sat: 11-7, Sun: 11-6), where our staff will be happy to guide you through the application process. You may also get a headstart by printing a paper copy of the application and bringing the completed form with you when you come to our adoption center or to one of our adoption events.
